Missy grew up an athlete, swimming her way to Olympic Trials all while receiving frequent bodywork. She quickly realized the life-changing benefits of massage both holistically and more specifically in relation to performance enhancement. She meets every body with care and consideration and will incorporate different techniques that pair best with what you need.

She enjoys swimming, skate skiing, climbing, and traveling to places she can surf.

My Approach

I was lucky enough to receive bodywork at a young age. Consistently being asked to think critically about how my body was feeling and was then taught how to listen to what it was telling me. Most importantly, I needed to integrate intentional recovery methods into my training regime to enhance my performance. Recovery is just as important as training hard. Read that again.

While working on various types of athletes with various overuse conditions, I have found that starting with a few assisted stretches can help assess where an athlete is at with their general mobility. I’ll warm the body up and prepare it for more pressure. I build up to deep releases within any disorganized connective tissues. When doing this, I can create more space to increase mobility and higher levels of muscle function. Once you’ve opened up through stretching and deep releases, and I’ve ironed out the muscles of the affected areas, I taper down the pressure to promote rest while increasing blood and lymph flow. Since the MIND, BODY & SPIRIT are connected, I incorporate a relaxing environment to destress and quiet the mind. Breathing techniques may be used to bring focus and connection.

I have had plenty of experience with stress, overuse, and physical traumas and can think of no greater purpose than to help those experiencing those pains. That is exactly why I dove into Massage Therapy practices. The benefits of this science and craft are endless. My purpose now is to share these teachings and pay forward the gift of a more conscious relationship between you and your body.
